Rich coproduced the project with Mark Robertson of This Train. Rich cowrote "Gospel Rain", and "New Mexico", sang on "Gospel Rain", "She Asked Me How", "Hope" and "New Mexico", and played keyboards on "Gospel Rain" and "She Asked Me How".
July 1998
Rich Mullins nineth album, "the Jesus record", is released on Myrrh records.
The album includes the last songs that Rich wrote before his death, as well as a couple of old ones, produced by Rick Elias and performed by the ragamuffin band. A second disc, entitled "the Jesus demos" is also included featuring Rich's rough boom-box demos of nine of the songs.

A video tribute to the life, music and ministry of Rich Mullins, entitled "Homeless Man: The Restless Heart of Rich Mullins" is released on Myrrh Records.
The beautiful project was created by Ben Pearson, Jimmy Abegg and Steve Taylor and includes interviews with Family, Friends, the Ragamuffin Band, Phil Keaggy, Steve Taylor, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Ashley Cleveland, Kenny Greenburg, John Michael Talbot, and others.

The Day-long festival was sponsored by Central Christian Church and was also Fund raiser for The Legacy of a Kid Brother of St Frank.
